PROCEDURES FOR APPLYING HEALTH CERTIFICATE OF FISHERIES PRODUCTS FOR EXPORT

  • Submit the Sample Analysis Request Form at least 1 week before the sample is sent;

  • Sample send by operator or sampling done by Food Analysts;

  • Type of analysis will be requested by operator are carried out by the Fish Inspection & Quality Control (FIQC) laboratories;

  • Result of analysis will be informed to the operator either by letter or by phone;

  • Operator to supply the required information as specified in the Health Certificate form;

  • Issuance of the Health Certificate by authorized Officer;

  • The time frame for the FIQC to issue a certificate will depend on the type of analysis requested by the operators. The table below shows the timeframe for each performed analysis. The mentioned duration is just a guideline, the actual analysis time will also depend on the number of sample sent :-

Type of Analysis Time Frame
Microbiological analysis minimum - 10 days
maximum - 34 days
Food safety analysis minimum - 14 days
maximum - 34 days

Note :
  • vA B$ 2.00 fee will be charged for each Health Certificate issued;

  • The validity of the certificate will be based on the following product analysed :-

    • 7 days for fresh products;
    • v90 days for frozen products;
    • 1 year for canned products.
