Types of Fish and Molluscan Shellfish affected by red tide organisms

Not all fish are affected by red tide. The types of fish affected are the one which eat planktons. They are called planktivorous fish and mainly pelagics. However, all molluscan shellfish are affected by red tide organisms. Bigger fish such as grouper, jacks, carangids and other demersal species, crustaceans such as shrimps and crabs, and squids are not affected by red tide.
