Main Functions
- Implementation of projects to
enrich breeding and nursery grounds as well as fishing grounds :-
- 803-006 : Meningkatkan
Penghasilan Nelayan-Nelayan Tradisional :-
- Construction and
deployment of artificial reefs;
- Monitoring of artificial
reefs, marine eco-systems and areas of importance for fish
breeding - such mangroves etc.
- 803-016 : Taman Marin :
- Providing basic facilities
and infrastructure for marine related recreational activities;
- Gazzetation of specific areas
- corals etc;
- Gazzetation of protected
areas;
- R&D related activities.
- CITES
- Member of CITES at national
level to handle issues related to fisheries.
- Implementation of programmes
under the National Turtle Management and Conservation Program :-
- Turtle watch / monitoring;
- Hatching-release Program;
- New building for the Turtle
Hatchery Center.
