Main Functions
-
Research and
verification breeding technologies of freshwater food fishes and
ornamental fishes;

Identification and
improvement of the potential freshwater food fish and ornamental
fish species;

Monitoring the development of ornamental fish operators;
-
Providing
technical assistance and advisory services to the ornamental fish
operators and
transferring new technology or giving technical advise in relation to
culture system and species;

Co-ordinating, implementing and
maintaining the e-Government Projects of the Department of Fisheries
such as computer network infrastructure and related peripherals,
on-line information and interactive applications systems;

Co-ordinating and updating the
content of the official government website for the
Department of Fisheries as well as monitor and maintaining the
official government e-mail services used by the officers and
sectional e-mails throughout the Department of Fisheries.
