Challenge at Seri Kenangan
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN -
Fishing enthusiasts are encouraged to join a fishing challenge on August
at Seri Kenangan Beach in Tutong District.
It is organised by the
Fisheries Department and its cooperative (BAKARANG).
The chief guest, Deputy
Minister of Industry and Primary Resources, Dato Paduka Haji Hamdillah
bin Haji Abdul Wahab, will officiate the Fishing Challenge 2006.
Category A is for the first
individual contestant to catch fish within 30 minutes and weighing not
less than 200 gms; Category B for the first individual contestant to
catch tiger prawn within 30 minutes, and weighing not less than 20gms
and category C for the biggest catch in individual category.
Category D for the largest
quantity of catch in individual category (weight not less than 100gm per
prawn); Category E for the largest catch in group category (weight not
less than 100 gms) and Category F for the largest quantity of tiger
prawn catch in the group category (weight not less than 15grns per
prawn).
Contestants should bring
their payment receipt and register prior to the competition.
Participants are also encouraged to bring their own bait and fishing
rods, organisers said.
For categories A, B, C and
D, entry fee for individual category is B$10; the fee for E and F (for
not- more than four people) is B$20 each. All contestants must be above
12 years old.
