The 2026 SEAFDEC Aquaculture Training on Mangrove Crab Nursery and Grow-Out Operations was held from 24 August to 2 September 2026 at the Tigbauan Main Station, Iloilo, Philippines, with participation from two officers representing the Department of Fisheries, Brunei Darussalam.
Organised by the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC/AQD), the training focused on developing practical knowledge and technical skills in mangrove crab (Scylla serrata) nursery and grow-out operations, including pond preparation, water quality and feeding management, disease prevention, monitoring, harvesting, packing and transport.
The training provided the officers with valuable hands-on experience and knowledge that can support the development of sustainable mangrove crab aquaculture and strengthen local technical capacity in aquaculture production.
